If you have found a small bat lying on the floor of your house/building and is not flying out, then it is probably injured or dehydrated or is under shock. Before you try to rescue it and take any action, please refer this document titled “Bat Rescue – Primary Intervention” prepared by our friends at Rehabber’s Den. It guides you with the first steps you can take when you rescue a bat, covering the first 24 hours of care. This is not to be construed as a guideline for rehabilitation. So please work with or under the guidance of an experienced rehabilitator or veterinarian for complete care. Do not handle bats with bare hands for your own safety as well as that of the bat.
