We have been working closely with the Karnataka State Forest Department who have shown immense support to protect some of the critical habitats for bats. Karnataka is the only state in India which has two protected areas dedicated for bats.
The Wildlife Trust of India is one of the first organisation that stepped up to support BCIT in its endeavor to prevent the hunting of bats in Nagaland through it Rapid Action Project and provided the much needed financial assistance.
Wild Otters is a research organization based out of Chorao Island, Goa. BCIT and Wild Otters have collaborated to carryout research on bat diversity across Goa region. BCIT will be providing necessary guidance and technical trainings to team Wild Otters in driving research and conservation action in the region.
Landscape Wizards and BCIT have collaborated to make a short video on Cave Ecosystem called “Life in a Cave” with bats as the flagship species for the Karnataka Forest Department’s project called “Bhimgad Collective”.
The Government of Nagaland and its Department of Forests, Ecology, Environment and Wildlife is one of our governmental partners supporting the “Preventing Bat Harvests” project in Nagaland. The government and related departments have been providing us the necessary resources and support on the ground.
